On May 5th, MTV Italy held their annual TRL (Total Request Live) Awards in Florence, Italy, with Big Bang winning under the “Best Fan” category.
It was previously reported that Big Bang and their official fanclub VIP were included in the nomination, alongside other international celebrities such as Avril Lavigne and One Direction. Fans were able to vote online through MTV Italy’s official homepage between March 22nd and May 5th.
Despite not being in Italy to receive the award, Big Bang’s Taeyang updated his Twitter account to personally thank their fans. He was further quoted saying, “VIP=BEST FANS That’s what I’m talking about :b”
This is not the first time that the group managed to receive an award on MTV. Previously, Big Bang attended MTV’s Europe Music Awards in Belfast and was awarded “Best Worldwide Act.”
Congratulations, Big Bang!
